Factory Operative – Pack and Dispatch
Destec Engineering Ltd are looking to recruit a full time permanent Factory Operative for our Pack and dispatch department.
The role
This position is a day shift role to help support the Pack and dispatch department, carrying out such tasks as picking, packing and dispatching finished product to customers. As part of the role you will be required to construct boxes, package components and assemblies and liaise with couriers at dispatch. You may at times be required to undertake general duties to keep factory areas neat and tidy, so we are looking for someone with flexibility who would like to progress with the company long term.
The individual
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will have ideally previously worked in an engineering/factory environment or similar and be happy to take on physical duties as required. A valid forklift licence (counterbalance) and familiarity with lifting equipment is preferential. We would like someone who is committed to doing things right first time and actively seeks work, who will help to ensure that quality and health and safety levels are maintained. Any training required by the successful applicant will be given.
Experience: – Working in the manufacturing industry minimum 1 year
Education: – GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)

Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
Service technician/ on-site machinist.
£14.50 – £15.30 per hour basic with overtime regularly available.
On-site machining including turning, milling, drilling & line boring performed on work sites in the UK and overseas.
Key Tasks.
- Have a strong engineering background including precision machining.
- Experience in machining various materials.
- Be able to work to tight tolerances and hit deadlines under minimal supervision.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping and administration job sheets.
- Compliance to the companies health and safety policies.
- The ability to work independently, to be self-driven.
- To be confident and happy to work away from home for long periods.
