Destec on-site service team recently made a repair to a stub shaft at a local water treatment plant. This involved machining away the damage whilst maintaining concentricity and alignment of the shaft. After a sleeve was heated to 200°C and slid onto the shaft with an interference fit. The sleeve was then re-machined to the required dimension.
